Smita is responsible for leading Finastra’s global platform,applications and developer focused marketing function. She heads a team that is bringing Finastra customers, fintechs and technology providers to co-innovate and collaborate together on the company’s Fusion Fabric cloud open developer platform.
Prior to this, Smita was Global Head of Partners and Ecosystem Marketing, responsible for supporting and driving strategic alliances with fintechs, developers, system integrators, resellers and channel sellers around the world.
She has also been Head of Regional Marketing, Asia Pacific at Finastra, where she drove the company’s visibility, sales performance and revenue generation across the region. A fintech evangelist, Smita champions the use of innovative technology in financial services, strategic collaboration within the fintech ecosystem, as well as the creation of diverse and inclusive workplaces.
She was recently nominated as the ‘Business Woman of the Year’ in Asia and has won the ‘Global Super Woman Achiever Award’ from the Global HRD Congress.
She launched and hosts the Finastra 12pm Talk Show – a monthly conversation series with industry leaders, renowned speakers and banking experts.
Recognised as an influential thought leader, Smita frequently contributes to leading industry publications and publishes blog posts on a variety of topics including Open Banking, fintech trends,innovation and digital transformation.
Smita joined Finastra from Tata Communications, where her role was Head of Strategy and Marketing for Asia Pacific. She was appointed to the Asia Pacific Advisory Board of the CMO Council in 2012. Smita graduated with an MBA from Ohio University, USA and a Bachelor of Economics from Delhi University, India.
